LADY BLACKBIRD - Black Acid Soul LP Lo-fi Few seemed to have beenOne of the best debuts of 2021, Black Acid Soul was the curtain raiser for Los Angeles based musician Marley Monroe, who records as Lady Blackbird. Rooted in jazz and centred around Monroes expressive vocals with minimal accompaniments of bass, guitar, piano and percussion, its an aural delight that transcends the time in which it was recorded. A spectral take on Tim Hardins Itll Never Happen Again is a real highlight.
