I would estimate the date of manufacture to be late 1950's to early 1960's
with a few small signs of use here and there but nothing particularly notable
as it is slightly heavier than the 100-series rods in this length

The reel boasts the 1904 design with the improved ratchet pawl, which Hardy introduced to strengthen the pawl with a stronger steel bridge. This reel still has the "C" spring flush against the frame, however, which Hardy would soon orient perpendicularly. Excellent overall condition, with normal cosmetic wear but free of any major defects that I could find.
