It differs from my later rods by the following two details: there is a wooden lip on the reel seat where it meets the rear of the grip and the wraps are a slightly darker shade of red then the current "may rose" color that I would later settle on (with edges that are also slightly darker)

The fleece lining looks as though it has not seen any use

No brassing to the inside of the guides on one tip
