LONNIE SMITH - Think! LP avant-garde Swift gives them all aReissue via Blue Note. 1968's Think! is one of those oft imitated, rarely improved golden age jazz tomes. Backed by a group that consisted of Lee Morgan, David Fathead Newman and Melvin Sparks, Smith and his organ deliver a set that combines classic bop sounds with Hugh Masekelas South African style, spiritual jazz, funk and early fusion. The result is a hot fingered masterpiece.
