The Baktiari tribe were semi nomadic, often travelling over 200 miles for their animals to graze, fording rivers along the way. It's said the Baktiari designed rugs with garden motifs as they could take these gardens with them when they packed up camp as they were unable to tend to gardens with their nomadic lifestyle.
