No rear check since with these earlier rods I often used the wooden lip of the walnut seat as the cork check

Nice up locking nickel silver reel seat over a maple spacer; very powerful medium fast action. A very nice rod from a very well respected builder. Some of the wraps have a "frosting" effect but this is only cosmetic as none of the silks are loose or cracking. Overall, this is a very fine example of Jon's work and a very nice casting 6 weight rod.
