WWII German War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords Medal – Original Ribbon Hoodies InterestinglyOffered is an original WWII German War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern), complete with period style suspension ribbon. Instituted in 1939, the War Merit Cross with Swords was awarded to military personnel for meritorious wartime service performed under combat related conditions that did not meet the requirements for the Iron Cross. The crossed swords device distinguishes it from the non combat version.
