The reason for this is mainly that since the printing of Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Dragons Rage Channeler and Murktide Regent the tempo archetype reinvented itself in being primarily blue-red and making Deaths Shadow not a necessary creature for tempo shells anymore
However, if you have cards in protective sleeves or, even better, unopened packs, you might have some near-mint condition cards that are more valuable than their damaged counterparts
My research suggests that this card is one of the better-suited Charizard variants for competitive play, and this is unlikely to change within the next few years
