Fabulous c. 1980s Hair Stylist's Sign, Kumasi, Ghana, Painted Plywood native Nitinat carving Early 19th cThere are many many wonderful examples of painted signs from barbers and hairdressers in Ghana, Burkino Faso, Ivory Coast, and Tofo dating from the 1970 ies to the present but I must say this is one of my favorites I've seen, including for how regal and really Cleopatra esque she is, and also for being a cutout. This sign is from Kumasi, Ghana, with Ahenboboano I believe referring to the location (Airport Road) and Elvis the name of the painter,
