though both are slightly off center and the lines seem a bit more wavering than confident

Perhaps I'm wrong and the drawing was made after the discoloration

Early, Small Floral Theorem on Velvet in Period Frame with Gold Mat Griebel hydrometer and 2 1/2" deepI rarely come across a small early 19th century theorem painting on velvet (usually they are larger) or one with a period gold mat, and for me it is the combination of scale and mat and frame together with the floral painting (with dogwood and bleeding hearts among those blooms) that makes this one a gem. I think it is of the sort to hang in a cozy corner next to a good reading chair it feels very warm, and also a bit moody, and especially at home
