Taught from a young ageDieter Schlatter (19402020) was a Swiss born, British Columbiabased artist whose richly layered paintings reflect a lifetime of creative exploration and intellectual depth. Beginning his artistic journey as a black and white photographer and published author in Europe, Schlatter later turned fully to painting in 1990, embracing it as his most powerful form of expression. Entirely self taught, he developed a distinctive style rooted in art history yet
