but I have a special love for "architectural" sorts of whimsies like this

that little red mouth--no upper lip that I can see

With what looks to be some faint handwritten text in a couple of spots too

Someone more knowledgeable than me identified the woods as walnut with maple inlay

Surely made to be stuck into the ground to inhabit the garden or dot the path to the chicken coop! Hand painted wood, c. 1920s 30s I would guess. Each approx 5 1 2" w x 5 1 8" t measured on the square. All in good condition, painted on both sides.
