I found this not far from me on the North Shore in Massachusetts, I would guess not too far from where is was painted. The wooden stretcher shows what looks to be a patent date of Oct 7, 1884, so I would think done not too long after that. Impressionistic and atmospheric, it's a good one for a salon style wall or
