Circa. 1890. The chess set's brass hinges and clasps all open and close with ease. The chess pieces are set into the board by way of pegs; all pieces remain easy to remove and replace. The board is in an excellent condition overall. An exemplary example of a travelling chess set from the the late Victorian era.
