crisp and clean and super precise

or on the shelf storing all of the candles and matches in the house

containing 48 pages of drawings (filling entire pages)

but in all regards I'd say it is 100% perfect--larger and more substantial than any stone carved book I've seen

Happily I found two on a recent trip to Pennsylvania, listed individually today. Produced by some makers of magic lantern slides, these mechanical devices were called chromotropes, producing kaleidoscopic effects via two painted glass slides, with one of them rotating when one turns the handle; low tech marvelousness!
