On the reverse it is signed by a David Schultz in blue ink and dated 1860--(along with numbers running 1-9 first forwards then backwards)--suggesting perhaps that its maker was in fact David and perhaps that it was made to mark the birth or life of Abraham
but would also make a fantastic pillow
and even if locking a lock to a bridge to seal one's love is a bit of a cliche at this point
a glowing orange street lamp too

A pretty great portrait I'd say of a man with no shortage of ideas, holding up what perhaps is meant to be a lightening rod even if just a metaphorical one!
