Charming Little Pair of Pennsylvania Cut Paper Valentines hi mid-century haitian art nicely carved mask

nicely carved mask

There are a few small tears around the edges of the paper

The underside of the lid shows some greening of the copper

but it remains in great structural shape and I think all the more beautiful for the wear

At the same time

Charming Little Pair of Pennsylvania Cut Paper Valentines hi mid-century haitian art nicely carved maskJust a pair of little handmade valentines, which, between those fancy scalloped edges and crayoned hearts, I find hugely satisfying. There is writing in graphite inside, a little hard to read against the green, but one was definitely addressed to Grandma. There is a bit of a sheen to the green paper. 3 1 8" x 3 ea, closed. Good condition, early 20th c. I believe.
