was commissioned by the navy in 1898 for duty in the Spanish American war

but overall they are in very good shape

Small but wonderfully detailed all that intensively carved fur and those tiny little feet and crosshatched tail! Definitely an old carving, with a terrific dark dry wood patina. Very charming. 3 1 2" l x 1 1 2" t x 1 1 16" w and in very good condition. Late 19th early 20th c. I would guess.
