Two old repairs: 1)a chip to the rim to the left of the image and 2) a chip to the body near the bottom of the handle to the right of the image

I'd guess this old cutout wooden stork head was once attached to a body and lived in a yard or garden somewhere

with "the bramble" to the rear of his house

--perhaps after hiding (and maybe the boy at right is still searching the blades of grass for him

And it is military issue, WWI I believe, which perhaps lends it a bit of extra authority! (Made in the USA too.)
